At Ffynone House School, pupils aged 14 and above are strongly encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programme.
The DofE programme is a way of improving pupils’ self-esteem and building confidence. They can also gain essential skills and attributes for life and work, such as:
- resilience
- problem-solving
- team-working
- communication and drive
It will also enhance CVs, and university and job applications.
DofE is all about setting personal challenges and pushing personal boundaries. Students have to complete four sections at Bronze and Silver levels and five at Gold. DofE is:
- a life-changing experience
- a fun time with friends
- an opportunity to discover new interests and talents
- a recognised mark of achievement, respected by employers
