Trips and visits constitute an essential element of a Ffynone education. We believe in giving our pupils as many experiences outside the classroom as possible, where they will develop as individuals and learn skills that will stand them in good stead for the future.
Outdoor pursuits
Once a year, each year-group goes on a two- or three-day residential in gorgeous locations in the area. These trips are educational, good fun and a great way to learn new skills, develop team-building skills and relationships between youngsters. Pupils have gone as far afield as Parkwood Outdoors in Dolygaer, and Manor Adventure in Llanwrtyd Wells.
Uni visits & field trips
The Science department organises educational visits to Swansea University frequently to enhance pupils’ learning. It also enables them to use the labs for practical experiments in Chemistry.
Studying Biology or Geography will automatically involve field trips for the pupils who have chosen these subjects at GCSE and A Level.
Other visits and trips
Visits to museums, shows, concerts, art workshops and residentials are run by other departments periodically in the year and during activity week early July.
The ski trip in December proves very popular among pupils. The ski trips have been as far-reaching as the USA and several European countries, the latest being Passo del Tonale in Italy.
