Any Year 6 student is welcome to book onto our transition events, even if they haven’t quite made up their minds where they want to go for secondary school. There are two sessions: 11th/12th June and 1st/2nd July.

As you can see, the first two days follow a standard lesson format. Day 3 takes a more practical, project-based approach and the final day will be a chance for you to meet the students who will be at the top of our school next year – our current Year 12. They will be your teachers and coaches for the day as they lead you in lessons and activities. We did this last year with great success and much fun was had by all!
These transition days will give you an opportunity to find your way around the building, ask any questions you might have and to meet some of your new peers and teachers. Please arrive at Ffynone ready for a 9am start and wear clothes and shoes that you feel comfortable in. It is helpful to bring your pencil case, school bag and a water bottle with you, but you won’t need anything else. Lunch will be provided, with a range of options each day.
Parents are invited to a Meet and Greet with the Headteacher, Business Manager and teaching staff at 3pm on Wednesday 2nd July. At this time, we will give out welcome packs with all the information you need for a smooth start in September.
You are most welcome to treat these events as further taster days if you wish. Equally, if you cannot attend these sessions, but would like to have a taster day at another time, then please do let us know and we can make individual arrangements for you to do so.
